Two Important Things.

Another installment over at “Fire Brand of the AL,” in which I encourage readers to chime in on why they think Josh Beckett “struggled” in 2008.  And I wrote it so please read and leave a comment over there if possible.

And Starbucks apparently takes a hit after a Consumer Reports report.  I have switched to Folgers 1/2 the caffeine to limit my caffeine intake (and green tea sometimes).  Which means that if I want to enjoy another cup of my name before I write a blog, it will not be at the expense of my extreme paranoia ๐Ÿ™‚  Starbucks isn’t bad, I don’t think anyway.  But yes, the black coffee they have is overrated.  However, since the coffee is conveniently located at every corner, in every city, one cannot help to stop in, at least on occasion.  They do offer other drinks–latte’s, etc–that I don’t necessarily drink, but that I am sure others enjoy.  And while their plain coffee may not be up to par, the other drinks will still bring in plenty of business.  Last time I checked, those kinds of drinks aren’t easy to make at home.

Wasn’t it great that a $ 6 coffee brand beat out the heavyweight champion of the coffee shops. Just goes to show you price doesn’t always add up to quality.

But I do have to admit that Starbucks is to coffee what the New York Yankees are to baseball, and even the mighty can fall on their faces.

I will stroll on over ans check out your blog later today on Firebrand. Good luck with your writing over there, but do not forget about us here too. We also like what you write.

Sometimes they make it out like Starbucks is crap though. Maybe it is just me, but it is ok. There are better coffees, definitely. But I just want my darn caffeine fix. ๐Ÿ™‚

the more i drink it, the less i notice the caffeine. did you know that the darker the roast the less caffeine per pound–in other words espresso type roast has less that dunkin’

No, Mike, I did not know that. I always try and control my intake, I feel overwhelmed if I drink too much, so I try and stay away from doing it.
